Hello, I am an art consultant, curator and writer with over 13 years’ experience of developing exhibitions, programming bespoke creative events, managing artists and their estates, advising on the acquisition and commissioning of artworks, and writing about culture. You can read more about my background here, and below are some of the ways I could work with you…
Curating
I commence with a meeting to view and assess the space, taking into consideration any existing artworks in situ, before discussing various ideas, themes, costs and timescales. Following this initial meeting, I will source appropriate works and present a variety of options, looking also at the display, lighting and security of the artwork. Once the selection is finalised, I will organise logistics, purchases, and coordinate the installation of artworks on site.
Recent projects include curating luxury apartments in The Goodsyard, Birmingham and London Art Fair’s 2023 Platform.
Commissioning
I can manage custom commissions for public and private spaces, including residential properties, hotels, restaurants, and corporate environments. After viewing the space and discussing wider brand/client requirements, I will research and propose which artists would be most fitting for the project, before commissioning custom works and overseeing the installation process.
Recent commission of a specially designed Jewellery Quarter Colour Palette for residential space.
Art advising
I work with established collectors and those first venturing into the art world to advise on the acquisition of artworks, whether that’s a single painting by a blue-chip artist to hang above a sofa or collection of sculptures by an emerging graduate. I visit gallery exhibitions, art fairs, open studios and auctions, staying up-to-date with trends and the ever-changing market, advising on art buying decisions that make emotional and financial sense.
Recently advised private clients on the acquisition of works by various emerging artists from the Slade School of Fine Art and the Estate of Eric Tucker.
Writing/content creation
Working with museums and galleries, I write extended essays for exhibition catalogues, brochures, webpages and walls. I have previously written about Emmy Bridgwater, Samin Ahmadzadeh, Annette Pugh, Shani Rhys James, Baltasar Lobo, Ben Nicholson and Julie van der Vaart, among many others. In 2019, I wrote a catalogue on the artist Eric Tucker to accompany a major show at Warrington Museum and Art Gallery, achieving national press coverage.
During the curation and/or commissioning of artworks, I manage and create high-quality visual, written, audio and video content that documents the process, outlines the project, celebrates the results and promotes the client, artists and other partners. Content can be used across social media channels, webpages, newsletters and digital campaigns by a range of collaborators to maximise engagement, visibility and brand awareness.

Speaking/lecturing
I lecture on art history, and have spoken at a range of venues including The 92nd Street Y, New York, Dulwich Picture Gallery, The Holburne Museum, the University of Oxford and Sotheby’s Institute of Art. As a modern and contemporary art expert and confident speaker, I have been featured on TV and radio including Sky Arts, the BBC, C4, ITV and TRT World. Most recently, I co-presented a documentary on ‘The Bohemians of Balsall Heath’ with Stewart Lee for BBC R4.
